Jennifer represented a father in contested Children Act proceedings in circumstances where the matter had been in court since the birth of the child (now 6 years old) and the court appointing a Guardian and solicitor to represent the child within those proceedings.
Jennifer also represented a Mother in a similar situation, where the matter has been in and out of court for the majority of the child’s life.
Jennifer represented a client collaboratively in a series of four-way meetings with the spouse and their solicitor which resulted in an amicable settlement and favourable agreement for both parties and the children of the family. The settlement was converted into a Court Order which is legally enforceable.
Jennifer represents both Applicants and Respondents in divorce proceedings. She advises on the procedure and best way forward and will ensure the client is kept informed every step of the way.
Jennifer represents Applicants and respondents in divorce, cases range from very high net worth with several properties and land, significant pension posts, high income and bonuses to factor in to more modest families with a family home and average family income.
She has represented parties in same sex marriages in Divorce and Civil Partners in the Dissolution of their partnership.
Financial remedy on divorce is usually the most contentious part of the whole process. Jennifer has recently assisted a wife where there were a number of properties to consider, most of these were registered in the names of the parties and their respective family members. The majority of the matrimonial wealth was tied up in the Husband’s family businesses. The family sought to exclude the Wife from these businesses upon separation. Jennifer worked closely with our commercial team to ensure the Wife was not financially impacted.
Jennifer works with clients who are overseas and wanting to divorce via the English courts. She recently advised a client in divorce proceedings and conducted financial negotiations whilst both parties were living in the UAE.
Jennifer has advised on the validity of marriages undertaken overseas and religious marriages.
