We are keen to hear from a talented and ambitious Lawyer to be part of our busy Court of Protection Team covering Essex and London.  Working alongside the teams Panel Deputy, you will ideally have an in depth knowledge of the Deputy Standards and in turn be able to deal with day-to-day Deputy General Management. This includes working with clients who have been victims of serious financial abuse or have complex financial needs. You will also have experience dealing with Court applications for Deputyship Appointments, Statutory Wills, Estate Planning and Trust related matters.

You will be required to take part in and initiate marketing, networking, and other business development activities in order to maintain and develop work from both existing and potential clients.

Ideally you will have experience advising upon all aspects of Family law.

You will have an excellent working knowledge and understanding of those practice areas and you will be familiar with running and managing your own cases with appropriate supervision.

The end date for applications is Friday 28th March 2025. We are looking for trainees to commence their training contracts with us in September 2025.

Our firm is divided internally into a number departments: Private Client, Family, Commercial Litigation, Property Litigation, Contested Probate, PI and Clinical Negligence, Corporate, Commercial Property and Residential Property.

We have a Trainee Partner who guides and provides assistance, a mentoring scheme and a career develop programme detailing aims and objectives at each stage of our career journey from solicitor, associate, senior associate and partner.

• Deal with new business enquiries, follow up enquiries and provide accurate record keeping
• Carry out all necessary conflict, money laundering and ID checks
• Undertake a range of admin duties including data entry, completion of forms, managing diaries and travel, expenses, research, drafting of documentation, booking of events, meeting preparation and more
• Liaise with other areas of the business such as accounts/marketing teams
• Provide Audio typing (Bighand) and copy typing as required
• Liaise with clients and third parties as instructed by Lawyers
• Attend to clients, delivering documentation as/when required

It’s extremely important that you are motivated and can demonstrate a “can do” approach. You’ll need the ability to work well under pressure, be flexible, proactive, take ownership of issues and offer solutions. Key Skills and Competencies:

• Excellent working knowledge of all Microsoft Packages
• Knowledge of Tikit TFB desirable
• Good working knowledge of third party applications where appropriate e.g. Bighand, Oyez etc
• Excellent organisation skills and attention to detail
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

You be the main point of contact in the initial stages of any new enquiry to the Firm by a potential client for Wills/LPA’s. It is important that the enquiry is dealt with politely and efficiently at all times, with a focus on ‘Work Capture’. To obtain details from the enquirer and complete the correct Fact-Finding Form. Main tasks:

• To log all enquiries on to the data base
• To direct the enquiry to the most suitable Fee Earner and book initial appointment in the Lawyers diary
• To act as first point of contact for all new Will/LPA enquiries
• Ensure all calls are picked up within agreed service levels
• To accurately complete the Fact-Finding Form
• To book an appointment for the lawyer
• To complete a conflict check
• To ensure that all new enquiries are logged
• Open files on P4W
• Generate initial appointment letters, Will questionnaires
