The sun was shining for the inaugural Three Pinney Office Walk Challenge in support of our Charity of the Year, Tapestry.
Eleven members of the team, all in high spirits and ready for the challenge, set off from our Brentwood office on Ongar Road just after 9am on Saturday 15th September 2018. The walk to Upminster was on mixed terrain, crossing bridleways and through the local picturesque sights of Pages Wood to our office on Station Road. The group arrived much earlier than anticipated at 11:40am, where they were greeted by an array of much needed refreshments. After taking a short break, they set off again towards Hornchurch with a few additions to the group who decided to join in on the walk from Upminster to our office on North Street.
Once the team were back on their feet, they ambled through the streets of Upminster before heading down the hill for a photo opportunity at Tapestry’s HOPWA House. The final leg of their journey saw them making their way through the Hornchurch High Street to a celebratory crowd that had gathered outside our office.
This exemplary performance managed to raise a fantastic £746 for Tapestry, with donations still coming in. If you wish to make a contribution towards improving the services on offer in the borough for people living with dementia, you can donate via our JustGiving page.
Tapestry is an independent registered charity based in Hornchurch that is committed to supporting adults in leading a positive and fulfilling live in the later years of their life. The money raised helps Tapestry more than you think; whether that’s a hot meal for an older person, or funding a minibus trip to help them get out & about.
