The Pinney Talfourd Solicitors annual Charity Carol Concert at the Queen’s Theatre this year raised over £1,000.
This free event grows bigger and better each year, with all 500 seats reserved weeks in advance. The charities benefiting from this year’s event were The Queen’s Theatre Charitable Trust and Saint Francis Hospice, Pinney Talfourd’s Charity of the Year 2014.
Valued clients and contacts of Pinney Talfourd watched Philip Cockram, Managing Partner of Pinney Talfourd, open the event before handing the microphone over to two fabulous choirs, the Dawn Chorus and Saint Francis Hospice Choir, who filled the stage and led the crowd in lively renditions of Winter Wonderland and Jingle Bells, amongst others.
A charity raffle was the main fundraiser of the day with prizes donated by local firms including Waitrose, Aesthetics of Essex, Avtepe and Poetic Designs, Osteria Due Fratelli, Gymphobics and Mecca Bingo. A fantastic £1,132.15 was raised in total which will be split equally between the two charities.
Pam Light of Havering Over Fifties Forum closed the event, thanking everybody and congratulating the choirs for their performances. She also thanked Prontaprint for kindly donating their printing services for the song book. Afterwards the guests all enjoyed a well-earned cup of tea and a mince pie.
Philip Cockram said:
“We were delighted to see so many clients and contacts of the Firm and people associated with the charities we were supporting. This event is a great opportunity for us to promote the work of the Queen’s Theatre and St Francis Hospice who both do such excellent work in our local community”.
