Pinney Talfourd hosts successful “Love, Life & Legal Protection” seminar

Last Saturday 19 September 2026 saw Pinney Talfourd open the doors to its Upminster office for the Family Team’s inaugural free seminar “Love, Life & Legal Protection”, a practical and informative event designed to help individuals and families better understand the legal tools available to protect their financial futures.

Presented by members of the firm’s Family Team, Senior Associate Lucy Nicholson, Associate Jade Mercer, and Associate Alex Hunt, the seminar focused on the growing importance of relationship agreements and financial planning at the start of relationships. Guests received expert guidance on a range of topics, including cohabitation agreements, trust deeds, and prenuptial agreements, with speakers explaining how these legal arrangements can help provide transparency, certainty and protection in both new and established relationships.

Throughout the morning, attendees learned about:

• common misconceptions surrounding property ownership and relationship rights,
• benefits of documenting financial arrangements
• the steps couples can take to minimise the risk of disputes in the future.

By translating complex legal concepts into clear, understandable guidance, the Family Team helped attendees gain a better understanding of how proactive planning can support both financial security and healthy relationships

The seminar concluded with a question and answer session, giving guests the opportunity to discuss their individual circumstances and seek further guidance from the firm’s specialists, as well as from partners, Catherine Polli Head of the Family team, and Claire Spurgeon, Partner also in the Family team.

The event will be the first of many for the Family Team and builds upon the success of the regular Wills and Lasting Powers of Attorney seminars which run from both or Upminster and Brentwood offices.
