Catherine has over 22 years’ experience in family law. She deals with all aspects of family law including divorce, financial remedy, pre-nuptial agreements, cohabitation, separation and child arrangements. Catherine specialises in complex and high value divorces, often involving businesses and significant pension assets and where third party claims are involved.

Representing a client in complex financial remedy proceedings involving 19 properties and application by intervenor. The beneficial ownership of properties held either in the husband’s or wife’s name was in dispute. Father intervened claiming a beneficial interest. Wife alleged conduct.
Representing a client who was joined as an intervenor in his brother’s financial remedy proceedings as property was owned in the joint names of our client and his brother.

Issues surrounding contentious aspects of Estates can be very stressful for the parties involved, especially so following the death of a loved one. Catherine’s many years of experience as a lawyer and her sensitive approach to cases helps clients to try to come to a resolution. Emotions run high but Catherine’s calm and balanced approach sets clients at ease so that they can make informed decisions and with her guidance successfully resolve issues, hopefully avoiding court. If proceedings are necessary however Catherine will work hard to achieve the best possible outcome for clients.

Successfully negotiating Deeds of Variation of Intestacy on behalf of surviving spouses.
Concluding a very long running dispute regarding removal of executors, breach of fiduciary duties and setting aside a property transfer.
