"We wish to say thank you to Edward in the commercial team Brentwood, who took the time to explain our options in layman's terms and was clear and concise in his communication. This in turn helped us to make an informed decision with regard to the matter."

Rob Slade, Brentwood

"We used Edward Garston to look over termination papers when we decided to leave a major franchise. He explained everything to us so we could understand all the legal implications of what we were doing and made what was quite a stressful time much easier for us to navigate through. He was extremely knowledgeable, efficient and I thoroughly recommend Pinney Talfourd."

Edward's expertise includes:

Edward's recent work highlights include:

  • Acting for the majority shareholder of GTSLearning Limited, a global IT skills and training development company, on the sale of his stake to a US corporate. He innovatively addressed transaction complications, including the rights of minority shareholders, and oversaw a strategically important development in the sector.

  • Overseeing the reorganisation of Creative Plus Publishing, a specialist publisher twhich had the twin objectives of encouraging and incentivising the management team as well as permitting the exit of the founder. The transaction incorporated a complete review of the company structure including business continuity and succession planning.

  • Acting on behalf of Golding Accountancy Limited, a professional services firm, on the purchase of an accountancy business previously operated as a franchise. This required careful negotiations, not only with the Seller, Franchisor and landlord, as well as consideration how the new business would fit into the existing group.

  • Acting on the sale of an Essex based electrical wholesaler to a rapidly growing UK national firm. The transaction permitted the founder to retire, and demonstrated how the corporate department works seamlessly with our employment and property departments.

  • Acting for a subordinated bridge lender into a property development project, including advising on a comprehensive facility agreement and loan security package. The transaction was conducted at short notice with a tight deadline.
