Pinney Talfourd teamed up with local special needs school Corbets Tey School for their ‘Design a Christmas Card 2017’ Competition earlier this month.
Every child in the school was asked to design a cheerful and festive picture using their favourite art materials. The entries were then collected and Pinney Talfourd's Christmas Committee chose their favourites in a judging session over mince pies. The variety of designs was a delight to view and included handprint paintings, computer-aided designs and traditional colour pencil drawings. Some classes had chosen to go sparkly and the staff (and room) were covered with glitter and sequins by the end of the judging session.
Arham Pervin, aged 4 won first prize with a cute design of Rudolph surrounded by festive fairy lights. It has been used to create Pinney Talfourd’s Christmas card and Arham will receive a toy of his choice at a special school assembly on the last day of school term.
The Residents’ Association of Upminster and Cranham support this project every year and their community magazine The Bulletin sponsored the runner-up Sammy Ksaveriev, aged 8 for his jolly Santa picture.
Shareen Lewis won third place and will also receive toy of her choice as a reward for her efforts.
Client Services Partner, Catherine Polli, said “Thank you to everyone at the school for your time and effort. The designs we receive from the children are always fantastic and this year’s entries were no different. We are also delighted that The Bulletin has donated a prize again this year as there were so many wonderful cards. It was hard to pick just one.”
Pinney Talfourd will also give a donation to the school for their help in organising this annual event.
