Christmas at the Queen’s raises £3,646.98 for charity

After a three-year absence due to the pandemic, our annual charity concert, Christmas at the Queen’s made a triumphant return raising a total of £3,646.98 for two deserving charities.

The concert was originally scheduled for Monday 12 December but had to be postponed due to the unexpected snowfall from the night before.

The team at Pinney Talfourd and Queen’s Theatre worked tirelessly to ensure that the concert went ahead on a rescheduled date. Thanks to the help of all the volunteers, a new date was set for Monday 19 December.

The show went on

Despite the late notice, the show was well attended. In the foyer we had several local businesses set up for our first ever miniature Christmas market, whilst our volunteers sold raffle tickets for the many prizes donated to us by local businesses both large and small.

The concert was led by a Choir, who had no trouble getting the audience into the Christmas spirit. They were later joined by the wonderful children from Benhurst Primary School for a few Christmas numbers, bringing smiles to faces of everyone in the audience.

For the first time ever, Pinney Talfourd’s very own ‘Pinney Choir’ took to the stage to help close the concert.

All for a good cause

All funds raised from this event will be split evenly between the Queen’s Theatre Charitable Trust and Pinney Talfourd’s charity of the year, Kids Inspire.

Catherine Polli, partner said “thanks to the help of many volunteers, businesses and attendees who supported, we were able to exceed our fundraising target and set a new record. A huge thank you to all the choirs, including the amazing children of Benhurst Primary School.”
