Injunctions

An injunction is a Court Order requiring a person to do or not do something. An application for an injunction can be made with or without notice to the other party depending upon the type of application.

Typical injunctions include:

  • Ordering a person to refrain from harassing another
  • Ordering a person from defaming another
  • Freezing another's assets both here and abroad

Injunction applications require immediate action by skilled solicitors used to dealing with them on a regular basis. They can prove to be a powerful tool in litigation.

It is imperative that action is taken quickly and decisively when either obtaining or resisting an injunction as the element of surprise is key.
