Development work is a very specialist area. In recent years it has become increasingly common for land to be reclaimed and redeveloped into modern residential accommodation. Pinney Talfourd Solicitors are one of the few firms in Essex with substantial experience acting for clients acquiring residential development land and subsequent plot sales. We act for major national house builders as well as a number of smaller developers on sites ranging from two to hundreds of dwellings.

The work may commence with the acquisition of the site including road and sewer agreements. Often such acquisitions are subject to contract and conditional upon planning and/or other matters. We also deal with the eventual sale of individual plots (both leasehold and freehold). We have vast experience in dealing with sales of units to housing associations, as well as the refinancing of development sites.
