Claire Spurgeon
Claire is a Partner and a member of our Family Law Department.
Claire graduated from Hertfordshire University before being admitted as a solicitor in 2000. She joined Prestons & Kerlys in 2001 and became a partner in 2005. Pinney Talfourd LLP and Prestons & Kerlys merged in October 2011.
Claire has experience in all areas of family law including divorce, separation, cohabitation claims and financial settlements.
Claire regularly acts for high net worth individuals in divorce and financial provision particularly where there is an international element. As such she has regularly been instructed in cases requiring immediate action such as freezing assets abroad.
She also has significant experience in drafting pre and postnuptial agreements.
Claire is very interested in child law and has a wealth of experience in acting for parents in contact, parental responsibility and residence disputes and adoption, and financial claims for children. She also has experience in dealing with leave to remove from the jurisdiction applications and wardship.
Claire has a pragmatic "can do" approach to all aspects of her work and is highly regarded by her clients.
